A global leader in the fast-moving consumer goods industry, Procter&Gamble entered the Turkish market in 1987. Today, it has 21 healthcare, grooming and household brands in Turkey, among them İpana, Oral-B, Orkid, Prima, Ariel, Alo, Fairy, Gillette and Pantene. With this new agreement, Eczacıbaşı Pharmaceuticals Marketing will handle the distribution of all P&G brands in the pharmacy channel starting in July 2014.

At the signing ceremony, David Taylor, P&G Group President of Global Health and Grooming, noted that the new agreement was of strategic importance for P&G because it aimed to increase its business volume through pharmacies in Turkey three-fold over the next 10 years. Tankut Turnaoğlu, CEO of P&G Turkey, said that the aim of both parties was long-term collaboration to provide maximum benefit to consumers, and noted that the agreement combined Eczacıbaşı Pharmaceuticals Marketing’s distribution strength with P&G’s powerful product portfolio.

Dr. Erdal Karamercan, Eczacıbaşı Group President and CEO, said that the agreement was aligned with Eczacıbaşı Pharmaceuticals Marketing’s goal of increasing its OTC business. “Drawing on more than 70 years’ expertise in sales through pharmacies, Eczacıbaşı Pharmaceuticals Marketing continues to grow in this channel. Through the launch of new healthcare products, both prescription and OTC, as well as new agreements with partners like P&G, we aim to strengthen further our powerful presence in this channel. Moreover, we believe that this strategic collaboration with P&G will make an important contribution to the business portfolio of pharmacies in Turkey.”
