Tunisia – The Arab Bank might invest in the Tunisian Pharma Industry

Sabih Taher Masry, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Arab Bank PLC, said Tuesday that the group “will send officials in Tunisia to discuss the possibility of investing in the country in the pharmaceutical industry” .

Mr. Masry is also Chairman of the Board of Directors of ASTRA Group (Arab Supply and Trading Corporation) based in Saudi Arabia. This group is specialized in the pharmaceutical industries. The ASTRA Group operates in the drug manufacturing in several Arab countries such as : Jordan, Sudan, Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, Saudi Arabia and USA.

“We will work to ensure that our leaders will visit Tunisia soon as possible,” he promised, on the sidelines of the first meeting of the Economic Advisory Council between the EU and Tunisia.

“Our group will support the country’s democratic transition and help to restarts its economy,” said M.Masry invited by officials of the ATB, a subsidiary of Arab Bank on the occasion of the celebration of its 30th birthday.

ATB, a subsidiary of Arab Bank, plans to increase the number of its branches in Tunisia to 150 in 2014. The bank, headquartered in Amman (Jordan) currently has a network of 120 branches and employs more than 1,000 people.
